Wildflower + Pearl's Five Ways To #SLAYSPRING.
Wildflower + Pearl’s Five Ways To #SLAYSPRING
It’s finally here warmer weather, beautiful people out and about, the alluring scent of seasonal Spring blooms. Spring is not only a season but a state of mind. Within that state of mind comes renewal. If you're in need of some inspiration to jump-start your Spring, today is your lucky day. Here are Five Ways To #SlaySpring, brought to you by the #bohobabes at Wildflower + Pearl.
Change Your Decor
Your environment, home or work, play a huge role on outlook and overall mood. Start by organizing and storing all things winter related in your home. To bring Spring in, start by adding pops of color using accessories. I love using various throw pillows in festive Spring colors. Dusty lavender and coral blush are complementary and on trend for Spring. Fresh blooms for your home or office are wildly appropriate. Spring flowers such as Hyacinths, Daffodils and Tulips bring a festive freshness to any space. Area rugs or airy throw blankets in various patterns are always a great addition to a new Spring space.
Change Out Your Makeup
It’s always a great idea to change out your makeup. Extend your Spring cleaning to your makeup drawer. Check for expiration dates and feel free to toss items that don’t work. Make room for the NOW! Spring is the perfect time to head on over to your local makeup counter. This Spring, a good quality facial moisturizer is an absolute must. I highly recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge 72-hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator. Don’t forget to restock on your staples, but feel free to indulge in a trend or two. My personal favorite is the aqua eye trend from Tadashi Shoji. To achieve this look, invest in a few metallic aqua colored eyeliners in various hues. Line the aqua hues on your top lids and waterline. Always pair statement look such as this with a natural face. Trends are for letting loose. The most important part is to have fun!
Treat Yourself!
While you're at it, don't forget to treat yourself to a luxurious bath with floral essential oils and bath bombs. Nothing says Spring like a good floral-scented body scrub. I’m addicted to the Geranium In Bloom Sugar Scrub By Laura Natural Soap. Don't forget to finish your bath with a good helping of your favorite moisturizer. There is a definite parallel in symbolism involving a soothing soak and Spring renewal. Naturally, this is embodied in the perfect bath. A luxurious bath is my absolute go-to when I need a bit of relaxation and me time. I look forward to it every week!
Check That Planner
I’m very sad to say that, occasionally, I must blow actual dust off of my beautiful Stradivo spiral-bound planner. A few weeks of not implementing the use of my planner is a definite downer. In this, we must remember that life happens. I often put the inadequate feelings aside and get to work. Start by confirming appointments and checking dates. If you must, call past dates or appointments to verify information and follow up. I often strive to be the perfect taskmaster. I’m obsessed with to-do lists. If you have tasks that you haven't gotten to, don't be discouraged. Compile a new list and move on. It’s time to Spring forward as they say, live for the day, plan for tomorrow and stick with it. One tip I use to stick with keeping my life organized is to make a habit of checking your planner everyday. Have your pen in hand to jot down notes and cross off completed tasks. Your phone should always be within reach. By keeping your phone close you can efficiently make calls, take care of business and get things done. It takes less time than you think.
Get Out There!
Start by checking out your local event guide. I highly recommend facebook events. If you stumble across something that interests you, RSVP or jot the event down in your planner. Grab some friends and enjoy the beautiful weather. If you’re lacking in the friend department, I highly recommend an app called BumbleBFF. BumbleBFF is available for both iPhone and Android users. The app is very similar to Tinder but it’s aimed towards connecting people for potential friendships. Give it a try, you’ll be out and about in no time.
